Your First Appointment at Blackfords Footcare
At Blackfords Footcare, all new patients begin with a comprehensive New Patient Consultation & First Treatment.
This allows us to understand your medical history, assess your foot health, identify the underlying cause of your concerns and ensure you receive the most appropriate treatment from the very beginning.
In most cases, your first routine treatment will be carried out during this appointment.
We believe this approach provides safer, more personalised care and ensures that every treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs.
Why is a New Patient Consultation Required?
At Blackfords Footcare, we believe the best treatment starts with understanding you—not just the problem that brought you through the door.
Your first appointment gives us the opportunity to build a complete picture of your health, lifestyle and foot concerns. By taking the time to carry out a thorough assessment, we can identify any underlying factors that may be contributing to your symptoms and develop a treatment plan that's tailored to your individual needs.
This comprehensive baseline assessment also allows us to monitor your foot health over time, helping us recognise changes early and ensure your care continues to evolve alongside your needs.
Helping You Understand Your Feet
We believe that understanding your feet is just as important as treating them.
During your assessment, we'll explain what we're looking at, what we've found and, most importantly, what it means for you. We want every patient to leave with a better understanding of their own foot health, the confidence to recognise when something changes, and the knowledge of when to seek advice.
Our aim isn't simply to treat today's problem—it's to help you protect your foot health for the future.
Your Foot Health Doesn't Stand Still
Just as your general health changes over time, so can your feet. That's why we routinely review every patient's foot health at least once every 12 months, ensuring any changes are identified early and your care remains tailored to your needs.
